Ikea Markus Review
This executive-style ergonomic office chair is great value. As it is from Ikea, you do have to assemble the chair itself, but this is a reasonably easy process and takes around half an hour. Once assembled, the chair looks great. The high back seat is made from a black mesh material that is breathable (so no perspiration problems!) and the seat and headrest are made from real leather.
The leather seat feels quite hard compared to other chairs, but this may soften with use. There is a lockable tilt function to recline up to 40 degrees and the height is adjustable, allowing you to be able to control the different sitting positions from the level situated under the seat. This is one of the top-ranked chairs in our best office chair under 200 list.
The lumbar support is built in and is soft and flexible, but unfortunately, it is not adjustable. One major selling point of this chair is that it comes with a 10-year guarantee, which makes the price tag even more attractive.
- Comparable to much more expensive chairs
- Previously won “best gaming chair”
- Armrests aren’t adjustable
Intimate WM Heart Black Ergonomic Black Mesh High Back Padded Office Chair Review
This chair is on the lower end of the budget for an ergonomic chair, so we were quite pleasantly surprised that it was so easy to build with very clear instructions. Construction takes around 20 minutes, although some previous reviews have suggested that they did it in 10 minutes.
The frame is made from molded plastic and the fabric of the chair is mesh, which allows for good air circulation during the working day and therefore prevents perspiration. The tilt mechanism allows for a good level of recline, which is also lockable. The lumbar support itself is quite simple and stretchy, with no way of adjusting it. However, it was comfortable and didn’t dig in or push you too far forwards.
One potential gripe was that the backrest was slightly too short for anyone over 6 feet tall. The headrest is quite low, as are the foldable armrests. This chair is pretty good for the price, but may not be suitable for anyone who wants adjustable lumbar support or anyone on the taller side. This is the number 2 ranked chair in our best office chair under 200 list.

Flash Ergonomic Task Chair With Headrest Review
This chair is specially designed for those who spend up to 8 hours a day at their desks. Once assembled, the first impressions are that this is a great looking mesh chair with lots of features, and even comes in 7 different colour options to match your office décor. The seat is large and very comfortable with lots of cushioning and there is a waterfall edge to allow for good circulation and to prevent pins and needles sensation that some people get after several hours in a seated position.
We liked the fact that the headrest is removable, although when it is attached it is not adjustable, so if you are on the taller side, you would need to remove the headrest to be comfortable. The tilt mechanism works well, and it even synchronises the recline of the seat and the backrest to move at the same time. The tilt tension is also adjustable, although the lumbar support is fixed, which seems a shame when virtually all the other features are adjustable, including the armrests.
Overall, the chair is a great budget solution for anyone who uses an office chair for many hours each day, and who doesn’t mind not having an adjustable lumbar support. This is the number 3 ranked chair in our best office chair under 200 list.
- Extremely Breathable
- Arm Rests Are Small
Beta 24 Hour Leather Task Chair Review
This chair is advertised as being endorsed by chiropractors, so we are expecting it to be really comfortable… It is designed for 24 hours daily use, with shift workers in mind. The seating capacity is 23.6 stones, so suitable for most users.
The seat itself has deep cushioning and is very comfortable with a waterfall edge to encourage good circulation and take pressure off the thighs. The lumbar backrest can be adjusted via a pump, and the ergonomics can be enhanced by the seat slide and lockable tilt function.
The arms are easily adjusted and very well padded, although may be too narrow for some. However, this is a minor criticism of a really great all-rounder chair that offers some really great ergonomic features at a very competitive price. This is the number 4 ranked chair in our best office chair under 200 list.
- Extremely Comfortable
- Looks Great
- Real Leather
- Not Great For Tall People
Ergo-Task Fully Loaded Mesh Office Chair with Posture Sprung Seat Review
This chair is designed for commercial office use up to 8 hours a day with a weight capacity of 17 stones. The assembly process is easy and the first impression is that the seat pad is generously proportioned with the all-important waterfall front that prevents circulation problems.
The seat slide is easily adjustable so the depth can be tailored to your own personal needs, which also helps to ease pressure on the thighs. The backrest is meshed and is height-adjustable, and the headrest is padded mesh, which is also adjustable. One issue that is common with chairs that come with headrests is that it cannot be adjusted to suit taller users, so always take user height into account when considering a chair with an integrated headrest.
The height adjustment is powered by gas lift and the armrests are adjustable to ensure your comfort throughout the day. This chair is a bargain price for anyone with back pain as it has been endorsed by chiropractors as being a great example of a chair that can optimise your posture during the working day. This is the number 5 ranked chair in our best office chair under 200 list.
